Chief Technology Officer (Founding, Equity-Only)

About the role

Seynox‑Grid Africa is building an AI‑native Financial Crime Operating System for mobile money and banking across Africa. As the founding Chief Technology Officer you will shape the platform’s technical architecture, lead the engineering team and drive the technical side of early partnership evaluations, starting with a national fraud‑exchange design partnership in Ghana.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical relationship with prospective design partners, acting as the direct counterpart to regulatory risk, financial crimes and AML/CFT leads.
• Lead training, refinement and production‑ready deployment of fraud‑detection models based on partner feedback.
• Define and maintain the platform’s architecture across all 21 modules and set engineering roadmap priorities.
• Represent technical readiness in regulatory discussions, including components of the Bank of Ghana’s PFTSP licence application and Cyber Security Authority registration.
• Conduct technical due‑diligence and act as liaison for new design‑partner evaluations.
• Build and manage the engineering team once funding is secured.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Senior engineering leadership experience, ideally as CTO, VP Engineering or Head of Engineering.
• Hands‑on experience in fintech, fraud detection or applied machine‑learning systems, preferably in West Africa.
• Comfort operating in a pre‑funding, high‑ambiguity environment with direct engagement of enterprise partners and regulators.
