Digital Education & AI Teaching Companion Consultant (Accra)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a consultant to provide expert technical assistance for a 14‑month Digital Education and AI‑Enabled Teaching and Learning Companion programme in Ghana. The role blends programme management, AI tool coordination, teacher development, monitoring, and system strengthening.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme management, coordination and technical oversight across five workstreams.
• Provide technical coordination and deployment support for the AI Teacher Companion, including configuration of AI platforms.
• Coordinate teacher professional development activities, including blended learning and professional learning communities.
• Oversee programme monitoring, learning, and research coordination.
• Strengthen systems, engage government stakeholders, manage communications and plan scale‑up.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Education, Digital Education, Educational Technology, AI in Education, Instructional Design, Data Science, Monitoring & Evaluation, Development Studies, Public Policy or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in digital education, education technology, teacher professional development, AI‑enabled learning solutions or education systems strengthening.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder education programmes involving governments, development partners and technology providers.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing or scaling AI‑enabled education interventions.
