Senior Lecturer – Computing & Information Systems

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) invites applications for a Senior Lecturer position within its Faculty of Computing and Information Systems. The role is open to candidates wishing to join one of the departments such as Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related General Studies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the selected department.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and research activities.
• Conduct scholarly research and publish in recognized peer‑reviewed journals.
• Engage in community service and university outreach initiatives.
• Contribute to faculty development, academic governance, and departmental planning.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline within Computing or Information Systems.
• Minimum four years experience as a Lecturer at a recognized university.
• At least six publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Prior appointment as Senior Lecturer or eligibility for promotion under GCTU’s promotion process.
• Three professional referees with contact details.
