Driver – Fixed-Term (2-year contract)

About the role

The UNICEF office in Accra is seeking a reliable driver to operate official vehicles, transport staff and goods, and ensure vehicle upkeep. This fixed‑term position lasts two years with the possibility of renewal.

Key responsibilities

• Drive office vehicles for authorized personnel, mail, documents and other items.
• Receive officials at the airport and assist with immigration/customs formalities.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (oil, water, battery, brakes, tires) and report any defects.
• Carry out minor repairs, arrange for major maintenance, and keep the vehicle clean and secure.
• Maintain safety of passengers, road users and cargo during all trips.
• Undertake any additional duties as required by the Administrative Assistant.

Required profile

• High school diploma.
• Professional driver’s licence.
• Minimum five years of continuous safe driving experience.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of a local language is an asset.
• Understanding of driving rules, regulations and basic auto‑mechanics.
