Operations & Logistics Manager – Tema, Ghana

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking an experienced Operations & Logistics Manager to lead end‑to‑end vessel and cargo operations at its Tema hub in Ghana. The role is responsible for ensuring reliable vessel schedules, efficient equipment handling, cost‑effective logistics and strong vendor performance while complying with PIL standards.

Key responsibilities

• Drive schedule reliability and port productivity by coordinating with vessels, terminals, agents and port authorities.
• Maintain full visibility of container movements, optimise empty stock positioning and monitor dwell times.
• Build and manage partnerships with ICDs, CFSs, haulers and depots to improve cost efficiency and service reliability.
• Monitor vendor performance, manage contracts, validate costs and support procurement of rates.
• Produce accurate operational reports, process invoices, track KPIs and highlight risks for data‑driven decisions.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing operations team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Maritime Studies or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in shipping, logistics or operations management, preferably in containerised trade.
• Proven ability to optimise costs, improve processes and deliver KPI targets in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.
• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication.
