Education Support Teacher (Primary)

About the role

We are building a pool of Education Support Teachers to work across permanent, fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies for the 2027 school year. The role is based at Riverside Education Support Centre, a specialist primary school for children with learning difficulties, and involves delivering tailored instruction to students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a functional, supportive learning environment for students with disabilities.
• Plan and deliver curriculum aligned with the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Framework and individualised to each student’s IEP.
• Lead and coordinate Education Assistants to ensure effective classroom practice.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, therapists and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of school programmes and professional development of staff.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience or strong willingness to work in a primary special‑needs setting.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to build trust with staff, students and families.
• Ability to establish and maintain clear classroom routines and expectations.
