Farm Assist Accounts Manager

About the role

The Farm Assist Accounts Manager will oversee all financial and accounting functions for GA Farms’ operations across Accra and the Tema region. This role combines traditional accounting duties with agricultural cost management to support the farm’s growth and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Monitor budgets for farm operations, feed production, equipment purchases, and seasonal inputs.
• Oversee valuation and tracking of agricultural inventory such as feed, fertilizers, and livestock.
• Implement cost accounting systems to measure unit costs, input‑output efficiency, and yield performance.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, agricultural subsidies, and import/export regulations; file VAT and other statutory returns.
• Draft and review contracts with suppliers, distributors, and logistics partners; negotiate payment terms.
• Manage payroll for farmhands, technical staff, and seasonal workers, ensuring labor law compliance.
• Provide financial insights for expansion plans, cash‑flow forecasting, and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with farm managers to align financial data with operational realities and integrate ERP or farm‑management software.
• Support general farm operations as required by the farm manager.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or Agricultural Economics.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in an agribusiness environment.
• Strong understanding of agricultural cost accounting and seasonal cash‑flow management.
• Knowledge of Ghanaian tax regulations and agricultural subsidies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with agricultural software such as AgManager.
• Experience using ERP systems for financial tracking.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
