Field Service Technician

About the role

FLSmidth is seeking a Field Service Technician to support its mining equipment portfolio across the EMEA region. You will ensure that machinery is installed, commissioned, and maintained to meet design specifications and safety standards, contributing to sustainable production for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Install and commission equipment such as ABON‑Sizers, Buffalo Sizers and Feeders according to design, specifications and quality control plans.
• Provide hand‑over documentation and close‑out reports to clients after successful commissioning.
• Monitor work progress against quality standards and manage site and commissioning costs.
• Evaluate performance of machinery, troubleshoot operational issues and suggest upgrades.
• Conduct tests, inspections and service assignments to determine maintenance needs.
• Work in underground conditions, extended hours and occasional travel outside South Africa.

Required profile

• Qualified Artisan – Fitter/Millwright with at least 5 years of engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience with ABON‑Sizers, Buffalo Sizers or Feeders.
• Strong knowledge of equipment, site operations and maintenance procedures.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
