Finance Officer – Accounting & Payments

About the role

As a Finance Officer you will support the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate financial records, processing payments and contributing to regular reporting. This position offers an early‑career professional the chance to develop core accounting skills within a growing insurance company.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are captured in the accounting system.
• Perform bank and ledger reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare and issue invoices, and manage timely vendor and supplier payments.
• Maintain organized digital and physical financial files, receipts and supporting documentation.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial summaries, trial balances and ad‑hoc reports for management.
• Gather documentation for internal and external audits and support audit processes.
• Help file statutory returns and ensure basic tax compliance under senior supervision.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years of practical experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Part‑qualification with a professional body such as ICAG or ACCA is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and data entry.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and integrity handling financial information.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities.
