Financial Controller / Finance Manager – Ghana Operations

About the role

We are establishing a new commodity trading operation in Ghana and need a hands‑on Finance Manager to build and lead the full finance function. You will be responsible for finance, treasury, reporting, compliance and control from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting, month‑end and year‑end closing, financial statements, audits and reporting to headquarters.
• Oversee treasury activities: cash‑flow management, international payments, FX exposure (GHS/USD), letters of credit, trade finance and banking relationships.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, analyse profitability and margins by commodity and trading contract, and monitor performance.
• Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority requirements, VAT, corporate/income taxes, IFRS and Bank of Ghana foreign‑exchange regulations.
• Establish robust internal controls and lead the local accounting and administrative team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Management or a professional qualification (ACCA, ICAG, MBA Finance).
• 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in commodity trading, international trading or agri‑food.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax regulations, Bank of Ghana rules and IFRS.
• Fluent English and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced trading environment.
