General Manager – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The General Manager will lead the overall performance, operations, and strategic growth of a leading manufacturing firm in Ghana. Reporting to the CEO, the role focuses on business turnaround, operational efficiency, market expansion, and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement growth strategies to increase revenue, profitability and market share.
• Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and market expansion initiatives.
• Maintain relationships with distributors, contractors and customers.
• Ensure cost‑effective production while maintaining high‑quality roofing products.
• Oversee supply chain, procurement and inventory control.
• Implement safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Design pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability.
• Drive sales initiatives, manage distribution partnerships and digital marketing.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing sales and manufacturing team.
• Monitor financial performance, margins and operational costs, providing strategic recommendations.
• Lead recruitment, performance management and workforce development.
• Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of senior operations or general management experience.
• Proven experience managing manufacturing operations and commercial/sales functions.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory control and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to drive growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
• Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and performance metrics.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Leadership and people‑management expertise.
