General Manager, Organisational Effectiveness & Performance

About the role

The General Manager, Organisational Effectiveness & Performance will lead the design and execution of MTN’s enterprise‑wide organisational effectiveness strategy. Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, the role is responsible for aligning strategy, structure, people capability, culture and performance systems to drive sustainable productivity and measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement an integrated Organisational Effectiveness framework aligned to business strategy.
• Translate corporate strategy into people, capability, structure, and performance requirements.
• Oversee organisation design, job architecture and workforce productivity models.
• Establish enterprise standards for performance management, goal alignment and accountability.
• Continuously diagnose organisational health using data and analytics.
• Provide strategic oversight to enterprise learning, leadership development, succession planning and talent pipelines.
• Drive initiatives that embed a learning culture and ensure capability development is future‑focused.
• Monitor ROI and impact of learning and talent investments.
• Lead the development and delivery of the Talent & Performance Management framework.
• Design initiatives to embed a high‑performance, values‑driven culture.
• Ensure performance systems reinforce fairness, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Lead end‑to‑end succession planning and critical role identification.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in organisational effectiveness and performance.
• Ability to translate corporate strategy into people, structure and capability requirements.
• Strong background in organisational design, job architecture and workforce productivity.
• Experience in overseeing learning, leadership development and succession planning.
• Demonstrated capability to drive a high‑performance, values‑driven culture.
