Grants Assistant / Officer

About the role

The Grants Assistant / Officer will support the effective administration and monitoring of grants for the ACTIVATE project, a five‑year initiative aimed at strengthening gender‑responsive agricultural TVET in Ghana. Reporting to the Senior Grants and Compliance Officer, the role ensures that grant activities comply with donor requirements and project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, submission, and tracking of grant proposals and agreements.
• Maintain accurate grant files, financial records, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and timelines against grant milestones.
• Prepare regular financial and narrative reports for donors and internal stakeholders.
• Support audit processes and respond to donor queries.
• Liaise with project partners, government agencies, and NGOs to ensure coordinated implementation.
• Provide administrative support to the Senior Grants and Compliance Officer as needed.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in grant administration, monitoring, or compliance, preferably in the development sector.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations and reporting standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a multicultural environment.
