Head of Client Coverage Ghana and West Africa

About the role

The Head of Client Coverage for Ghana and West Africa will lead the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) coverage team across the region. Reporting as the most senior CIB representative, you will shape strategy, drive growth, and ensure an exceptional client experience for large corporates and public‑sector entities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive new‑business acquisition, client retention, and share‑of‑wallet optimisation to meet the bank’s commercial growth targets.
• Develop and execute a country and regional CIB coverage strategy in alignment with pan‑Africa sector and product heads.
• Monitor performance against scorecards, identify root causes of under‑performance and implement remediation plans.
• Enhance the customer value proposition, service delivery and client engagement across the region.
• Lead the coverage team, cascade strategy, and foster a culture that supports the bank’s aspirational colleague experience.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in corporate or investment banking, preferably within a regional or multi‑country context.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with CEOs of large corporates and senior public‑sector officials.
• Strong track record of developing and executing business and coverage strategies.
• Experience in performance management, remediation planning and driving cultural change.
