Head of Supply Chain Management

About the role

The Head of Supply Chain Management will lead Telecel Ghana’s end‑to‑end supply chain strategy, driving cost efficiency, risk mitigation and operational resilience across procurement, logistics and contract governance. Reporting to senior leadership, the role partners with the Board to align supply chain initiatives with the company’s financial and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category management frameworks to capture value across spend categories using Design to Cost and Supply Chain Cost Modelling.
• Provide expert advice on procurement, supply chain and contract management to executive leadership and the Board.
• Oversee logistics excellence, including warehousing, customs clearance, transportation, inventory control and asset disposal.
• Manage the full contract lifecycle – drafting, negotiation, administration and compliance – ensuring legal robustness and regulatory alignment.
• Deliver on savings targets, monitor PR/PO turnaround times and drive supplier performance and relationship management.
• Establish a supply market risk management framework through regular spend analysis and diversification strategies.
• Ensure GDPR and other regulatory compliance via a governed master data management system.
• Identify and develop high‑potential talent, creating clear career paths and fostering a high‑performance culture aligned with Telecel’s values.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement or logistics leadership roles.
• Proven track record of delivering cost avoidance, savings and operational improvements.
• Strong understanding of contract governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Experience influencing senior executives and Board members.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high‑performing teams.
