Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM)

About the role

The Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) is a strategic leader responsible for driving risk mitigation, financial performance, and operational resilience across the organisation. Reporting to senior leadership and the Board, the incumbent will shape and execute end‑to‑end supply chain strategies that deliver measurable cost avoidance and value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Apply category management frameworks and tools such as Design to Cost and Supply Chain Cost Modelling to generate savings and efficiency.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert on procurement, supply chain, and contract management, advising executives on strategic initiatives and risk mitigation.
• Lead logistics excellence covering warehousing, customs clearance, transportation, inventory control and asset disposal while integrating financial insights.
• Own the full contract lifecycle – drafting, negotiation, administration and compliance – ensuring legal robustness and regulatory alignment.
• Deliver on savings targets, manage PR/PO turnaround times and oversee supplier performance.
• Maintain a robust supply market risk management framework through regular spend analysis.
• Ensure GDPR and other regulatory compliance via a governed master data system.
• Identify, develop and nurture high‑potential talent, building future leadership capacity.

Required profile

• First degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management (minimum 10 years experience) or Commercial/Engineering degree with at least 15 years experience, including 5 years at executive level.
• Professional qualification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale supply chain, logistics and contract management functions.
