Health and Safety Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Health and Safety Manager to lead all health and safety operations within our manufacturing facility. The role involves developing safety policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve safety management systems in line with national regulations and company policies.
• Lead safety training programmes to raise employee awareness and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian occupational health and safety laws and international HSE standards.
• Manage procurement, inspection and maintenance of safety equipment.
• Provide regular safety performance reports to senior management.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities for documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 5 years of safety management experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of risk management, hazard identification and accident prevention.
• Proven experience in safety audits, compliance reporting and regulatory liaison.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
