Investment Specialist – UNCDF (Accra, Ghana)

About the role

The Investment Specialist will support the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in mobilising and catalysing capital flows for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) impactful investments in Ghana. Reporting to senior management, the role focuses on designing and implementing blended financing solutions that combine grants, loans and guarantees to address development challenges in vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical and financial advisory services to Member States and partners on investment projects.
• Design bespoke financial structures, including blended finance mechanisms, to attract private capital.
• Conduct financial analysis and feasibility studies for potential development projects.
• Coordinate with UN agencies, donors and private sector partners to align financing strategies with the 2030 Agenda.
• Monitor and report on the performance of funded projects and ensure compliance with UNCDF policies.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least five years of experience in development finance or investment advisory.
• Demonstrated knowledge of blended financing, grants, loans and guarantees.
• Familiarity with UN system procedures and the SDG framework.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder‑engagement capabilities.
