Main Taxi Fleet Specialist (Director)

About the role

The Main Taxi Fleet Specialist (Director) leads the operational excellence of our taxi fleet in Ghana, partnering with Yango and Bolt. You will design driver attraction strategies, manage shift schedules, and ensure seamless fleet performance across Accra and other cities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain drivers.
• Organise driver shift schedules and coordinate lodging for out‑of‑town drivers.
• Oversee vehicle hand‑overs, routine technical inspections, and external car inspections.
• Identify and address vehicle malfunctions, ensuring responsible parties cover repair costs.
• Conduct driver education programmes and promote a responsible fleet culture.
• Source maintenance and repair providers, and recruit mechanics and dispatchers.
• Supervise mechanics, dispatchers, and ensure compliance with work schedules and labour discipline.
• Monitor fleet readiness, driver performance, and enforce contractual disciplinary actions.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management or a related field.
• Experience in transportation, automotive industry or driver training programmes.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
