Maths Expert – Remote Short‑Term Contract

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified mathematics specialist to join our remote team on a short‑term contract. You will work directly with large‑language‑model researchers to create and evaluate challenging mathematical problems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation.
• Produce clear, step‑by‑step solutions with detailed reasoning.
• Collaborate with researchers to develop new evaluation benchmarks spanning undergraduate to PhD level.
• Analyze complex mathematical tasks using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts in simple language, supported by visuals and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or Ph.D. candidate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research, analytical, and creative thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.

What we offer

• Compensation of $346 per approved task.
• 11‑week contract with an 8‑hour daily schedule and 4‑hour PST overlap.
