Director, Research and Consultancy

About the role

The Ghana Technology University College is seeking a senior academic leader to head its research and consultancy activities. The Director will shape the university’s research strategy, foster national and international collaborations, and drive funding acquisition for innovative technology projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the university’s research agenda and consultancy services.
• Identify, prepare and submit research proposals to public and private funding bodies.
• Secure and manage research grants, including budgeting, reporting and compliance.
• Build and maintain partnerships with national and international research institutions.
• Oversee research teams, mentor faculty, and ensure high‑quality scholarly output.
• Coordinate the use of grant‑management software and related tools.

Required profile

• PhD with a distinguished record of academic leadership.
• Minimum five years experience in a tertiary institution, including at least three years in a senior leadership role such as Faculty Dean or Head of Department.
• Proven track record in obtaining national and international research funding.
• Scholarly credentials meeting senior lecturer standards, with publications and service.
• Experience in proposal development, budget management and post‑award reporting.
