National Agribusiness and Agricultural Financing Specialist

About the role

The FAO Regional Office for Africa is seeking a National Agribusiness and Agricultural Financing Specialist to support the One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative in Ghana. The role will focus on developing and implementing financing solutions that enable the growth of special agricultural products and strengthen the agrifood value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Design and coordinate financing strategies for agribusiness projects in the Accra and Tema regions.
• Collaborate with national authorities, private sector partners and regional economic integration organisations to mobilise resources.
• Monitor and evaluate the financial performance of funded projects, ensuring alignment with FAO’s sustainability goals.
• Provide technical advice on agricultural finance, risk assessment and investment planning.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports and policy briefs for the Regional Office and headquarters.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in agriculture, finance, economics or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in agribusiness financing or rural development, preferably within Ghana or the West African context.
• Strong analytical abilities and familiarity with financial instruments used in the agricultural sector.
• Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
