Payroll Manager – Finance Department

About the role

The Payroll Manager will lead the end‑to‑end payroll function within the Finance department, ensuring accurate, timely payments and full compliance with statutory and tax regulations. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role collaborates closely with HR and other business units.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain payroll systems, procedures and policies.
• Oversee the full payroll cycle, guaranteeing accuracy and on‑time delivery.
• Coordinate with HR to keep employee records up‑to‑date for hires, terminations and compensation changes.
• Ensure statutory compliance, tax reporting and correct deductions.
• Prepare, analyse and present payroll reports for senior management and audits.
• Conduct periodic payroll audits and support annual external audits.
• Develop and maintain a disaster‑recovery plan for payroll data.
• Supervise and train payroll staff, handling employee inquiries promptly.
• Stay informed on payroll legislation and industry trends.

Required profile

• BSc in Accounting, Finance, Administration or HRM.
• Professional qualification in payroll or related field.
• Strong knowledge of labour law and tax regulations.
• Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
