Phylogenetics Specialist – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Phylogenetics Specialist to evaluate and improve AI‑generated phylogenetics content. This short‑term remote contract involves reviewing problem sets, research tasks, and model responses to ensure scientific rigor.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated phylogenetics problems, research tasks, and evaluation scenarios.
• Assess scientific accuracy, realism, and grading of the problems.
• Evaluate AI‑generated responses for biological accuracy, reasoning quality, and completeness.
• Identify scientific errors, logical inconsistencies, and content gaps.
• Provide detailed annotations, constructive feedback, and quality assessments.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to refine evaluation workflows and benchmark quality.
• Apply expertise in phylogenetics and evolutionary biology to support frontier AI model development.

Required profile

• Master’s or PhD in Phylogenetics, Evolutionary Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or related field, or 4+ years professional experience in phylogenetics.
• Strong scientific reasoning, analytical and research abilities.
• Ability to deliver detailed feedback and high‑quality annotations.
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and start immediately.
• Availability to commit 15‑20 hours over the next few days, working 8 hours per day with at least 4 hours overlap with PST.
• Access to a reliable desktop/laptop and internet connection.
