Production Technician

About the role

The Production Technician will operate and maintain assigned machinery in a food‑manufacturing environment, ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient production. The role works closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to meet output targets and uphold safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by Production, Maintenance, and Quality Assurance managers.
• Record hourly production data, flow‑meter readings, and machine counters on log sheets.
• Maintain machine and work‑area cleanliness to guarantee safe product output.
• Account for raw materials, finished goods, and time spent at each shift or change‑over.
• Ensure smooth flow of materials upstream and downstream of the machine.
• Complete the hourly performance board accurately.
• Execute preventive and planned maintenance tasks and document downtime.
• Perform visual inspections of raw materials and finished products before release to warehouse.
• Carry out quality checks on inspection equipment and products.
• Liaise with internal customers to keep the production line running smoothly.

Required profile

• Knowledge of food safety and quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 2200).
• Ability to work in a team, adapt to change, and communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety at all operational levels.
• HND or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant post‑national‑service experience.
