Project Director – USAID Water & Sanitation (WASH)

About the role

Global Communities Ghana is seeking a senior Project Director to lead a USAID‑funded urban water and sanitation (WASH) program. The role focuses on expanding equitable access to safe water and basic sanitation for poor urban communities across Accra and Tema.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership, management and reporting for the WASH partnership with USAID.
• Serve as the lead technical expert on water and sanitation infrastructure design, construction, rehabilitation, testing, operation and maintenance.
• Plan and implement project components covering safe water access, sanitation, community governance, hygiene promotion and water‑related business development.
• Establish and maintain relationships with USAID, government agencies, private‑sector partners, micro‑credit providers and civil‑society organizations.
• Review and approve consultant and contractor documentation to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 7 years (84 months) of experience managing water and sanitation projects.
• Proven experience working on USAID‑funded programs or similar donor‑driven initiatives.
• Strong background in urban WASH interventions and community‑based approaches.
