Recovery / Credit Officer

About the role

The Recovery / Credit Officer will promote Westone Microfinance’s credit products, assess loan applications and manage a portfolio of micro‑loans to ensure timely repayments. The role combines customer interaction, field visits and analytical work to protect the institution’s credit risk.

Key responsibilities

• Market and promote credit products to prospective customers.
• Assess loan applications, conduct credit bureau checks, KYC verification and field visits.
• Maintain complete credit files and monitor loan performance.
• Follow up on delinquent accounts, conduct field visits to defaulting borrowers and guarantors, and collect recovered payments.
• Prepare default notices, negotiate repayment rescheduling and liaise with credit teams on risk mitigation.
• Analyse delinquent accounts and recommend recovery actions.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly performance reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with loan cycle policies, data protection and confidentiality.

Required profile

• HND or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in credit, micro‑finance, banking or loan recovery.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to conduct field visits and work directly with customers and guarantors.
