Recovery Officer – Collections & Delinquency Management

About the role

The Recovery Officer will lead arrears monitoring, collections follow‑up and delinquency management for the IFWEC Project. This position ensures overdue cases are identified early, acted upon promptly and managed through documented recovery processes to protect portfolio quality.

Key responsibilities

• Track repayment performance and maintain visibility on delinquent accounts.
• Coordinate early‑stage collections, follow‑up actions and case escalation pathways.
• Analyze arrears, cures and high‑risk accounts to support recovery planning.
• Maintain a recovery tracker with overdue accounts, actions taken, promises to pay and escalation status.
• Recommend and implement recovery pathways such as reminders, field visits, negotiated payment plans and management escalations.
• Provide reliable reporting and maintain complete recovery records for management decision‑making.
• Collaborate with field agents, association leaders and borrower groups to strengthen collection behaviour and reduce repeat defaults.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification with at least 1 month of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical ability to monitor repayments, arrears ageing and delinquency trends.
• Excellent coordination skills to work closely with field agents, association leaders and internal support units.
• Ability to produce accurate reports and maintain detailed recovery documentation.
• Good communication skills for interacting with borrowers and stakeholders.
