Regional Cargo Flow Lead – West Africa

About the role

Pacific International Lines is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Cargo Flow Lead for its West Africa Regional Office. The role is responsible for optimizing cargo flow, vessel utilisation and equipment availability across West and South Africa, ensuring efficient movement of cargo through the network while supporting profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage vessel allocations and capacity utilisation, monitor booking acceptance, loading forecasts and over‑booking risks.
• Develop weekly and monthly cargo flow forecasts by trade, service and port, consolidating commercial forecasts and booking pipelines.
• Coordinate equipment supply and empty‑container positioning with Logistics and Trade teams, addressing imbalances that affect revenue and service.
• Prioritise strategic and high‑value cargo with Sales, Customer Service and Trade teams, safeguarding key customer commitments during capacity constraints.
• Support decision‑making during schedule disruptions, port congestion, blank sailings and cargo roll‑overs, and coordinate cross‑functional corrective actions.
• Produce performance reports including vessel utilisation, booking pace analysis and loading performance dashboards.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with experience in cargo flow or logistics planning.
• Excellent coordination skills across Commercial, Trade, Operations, Logistics and Customer Service functions.
• Ability to anticipate space shortages, equipment imbalances and develop mitigation plans.
• Proactive attitude in a fast‑moving maritime environment.
