Relationship Manager – Mining, Energy & Infrastructure

About the role

The Relationship Manager will lead the portfolio of mining, energy and infrastructure clients within Corporate Banking at First National Bank Ghana. You will develop and execute sector‑specific strategies, deepen client relationships and drive revenue growth in line with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy for the mining, energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key decision‑makers in client organisations.
• Identify new opportunities, cross‑sell products and increase wallet share of existing clients.
• Conduct annual and interim credit reviews in partnership with credit analysts.
• Negotiate pricing, service standards and product offerings, and communicate them effectively.
• Resolve client complaints and ensure high service quality.
• Coordinate marketing initiatives and collaborative approaches across the First Rand Group.
• Work closely with risk, IBD, RMB sector heads and other cross‑functional teams to execute transactions.
• Mentor and develop team talent, ensuring the right skills for sector success.

Required profile

• Proven experience in corporate banking or relationship management within mining, energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of credit assessment, risk management and banking products.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and client‑service skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business units.
