Senior Manager Service Monitoring

About the role

MIDAS, a joint venture between MTN Group Fintech and Alipay, is seeking a Senior Manager to own the service monitoring strategy for its FinTech platforms. The role ensures monitoring aligns with business impact, SLA requirements and 24/7 operational resilience across infrastructure, applications, transactions, APIs and business services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive service monitoring strategy and operating model for infrastructure, applications, transactions, APIs and business processes.
• Define monitoring standards, coverage expectations, alerting principles, dashboard requirements and escalation triggers.
• Establish a proactive roadmap to improve early risk detection, alert accuracy, observability maturity and service availability.
• Align monitoring coverage with SLA commitments, customer impact, operational risk and platform resilience priorities.
• Regularly review and adjust the monitoring strategy against platform scale, incident trends and emerging technology changes.
• Own end‑to‑end monitoring coverage model, defining services, journeys, components and critical business indicators.

Required profile

• Senior professional with proven experience in designing and managing service monitoring for complex, high‑availability platforms.
• Strong understanding of FinTech ecosystems, digital wallets, APIs and transaction flows.
• Ability to translate business impact and SLA requirements into actionable monitoring indicators and runbooks.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams and driving continuous improvement in operational resilience.
