Shipping Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to lead the importation of wheat and export of flour products for Olam Agri. The role will oversee end‑to‑end logistics, ensure regulatory compliance and drive efficiency across maritime and inland transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate wheat shipments from origin to Ghana ports and manage all related documentation (L/C, BL, COO, etc.)
• Ensure customs clearance, bonded warehousing compliance and timely delivery to processing facilities
• Plan, track and optimise sea, land and inland transport, including vessel space booking and cost control
• Maintain relationships with port authorities, shipping lines, agents and internal stakeholders
• Monitor KPIs such as vessel turnaround, demurrage and shipping costs, providing regular performance reports
• Identify and mitigate risks related to delays, cargo damage or regulatory non‑compliance

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping or logistics, preferably within agri‑commodities
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms, shipping documentation and Ghana trade regulations
• Proven ability to negotiate with carriers and resolve operational issues
• Experience with wheat/flour supply chains and bulk cargo handling
