Tax Consultant – Advisory & Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Consultant to provide advisory and compliance support to our company and its clients. The role involves preparing and filing tax returns, managing corporate tax, VAT, PAYE and other statutory obligations, and staying abreast of changes in Ghanaian tax legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tax advisory and compliance support to the company and its clients.
• Prepare, review and submit corporate tax returns, VAT, withholding tax and PAYE filings.
• Conduct tax reviews to identify risks, exposures and compliance gaps.
• Liaise with the Ghana Revenue Authority on audits, assessments and tax‑related matters.
• Advise on tax implications of business transactions and contracts.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management accordingly.
• Support tax planning and identify legitimate tax optimisation opportunities.
• Maintain accurate tax records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in resolving tax disputes and other tax‑related issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Economics or a related field.
• Chartered Tax Practitioner qualification is mandatory.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in taxation, tax consulting or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws, regulations and GRA compliance requirements.
• Practical experience with corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax and PAYE.
• Experience handling tax audits, assessments and engagements with tax authorities.
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
