Transport Specialist

About the role

The Transport Specialist will plan and optimise product movements across Warc Africa’s network in Ghana, ensuring timely deliveries to offtakers and efficient internal transfers between hubs. This senior role focuses on high fleet utilisation, cost control and continuous improvement of transport operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the weekly transport plan to achieve near‑100% on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) deliveries.
• Lead coordination meetings with Operations and Logistics teams to confirm schedules.
• Plan and schedule daily and weekly internal product transfers between hubs, mega‑hubs and warehouses, optimising routes for stock availability.
• Allocate company‑owned, rented and contractor vehicles, monitor fleet performance, fuel usage, maintenance and availability.
• Maintain transport documentation including permits, logs, maintenance records and insurance.
• Coordinate driver assignments, set performance expectations and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Analyse transport cost‑per‑ton, fleet utilisation, downtime and routing performance to drive improvements.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 8 years (96 months) of experience in transport or logistics management.
• Proven ability to design and execute weekly transport plans and achieve high OTIF performance.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience monitoring fleet metrics and cost efficiency.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with cross‑functional Operations and Logistics teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with transport reporting tools such as Post Tracker and Fumigation Table.
