Vice President, Training & Quality Assurance

About the role

The Vice President for Training and Quality Assurance leads academic affairs and technical operations at the African Centre for Technical Training (ACTT) in Adenta, Accra. Reporting to the Founder & President, the role helps curate high-quality, demand-driven programmes and implement academic priorities. It is a full-time, two-year renewable position requiring both technical leadership and business acumen.

Key responsibilities

• Lead training by managing a team of Facilitators (foundation, specialization, apprenticeship, mandatory modules) and Internal Verifiers across all programmes
• Oversee the appointment, retention, promotion and development of Facilitators and Internal Verifiers
• Teach courses in your own trade area of expertise
• Work with the Vice President of Growth to identify and pursue strategic partners that support training outcomes
• Take part in ACTT-nominated events, conferences, campaigns and trade shows
• Maintain the highest possible programme quality, inside and outside the classroom, aligned with mission, policies and culture
• Serve on the Academic Advisory Committee responsible for curricula
• Lead data-driven research by designing, testing and sharing new approaches to improve training outcomes
• Prepare regular reports on deliverables and team performance

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant trade (e.g. plumbing, architecture, mechanical or civil engineering) with at least 3 years' industry experience
• Or Bachelor's degree with more than 5 years' industry experience in a relevant trade
• Experience teaching or facilitating in an academic or training institution
• Willingness to work in a start-up environment within a participatory community
• Strong integrity and ethical standards

Nice to have

• Certified and accredited Facilitator with CTVET or another external regulator
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication
• Attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills, decision-making based on data
• Proficiency with technology and readiness to build at ACTT
