Vice Rector – Midwifery & Paediatrics

About the role

The Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives is seeking a Vice Rector to lead its Midwifery and Paediatrics Division. Reporting to the Rector, you will provide strategic leadership and ensure the smooth operation of both academic and administrative functions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Rector in performing leadership duties and overseeing day‑to‑day operations of the division.
• Develop, implement and monitor academic and administrative policies.
• Supervise and coordinate all operational activities within the division.
• Maintain and enhance academic and professional standards.
• Provide direction on academic, research and operational matters.
• Foster the development of staff capabilities, skills and knowledge.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Rector.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Midwifery, Paediatric Nursing or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification as a midwife, paediatric nurse or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in public service, including at least 7 years in senior management.
• Fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives (GCNM).
• Proficiency with standard computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
