Agricultural Engineer Intern

About the role

The Agricultural Engineer Intern supports the design, implementation and improvement of agricultural systems and technologies to increase farm productivity, efficiency and sustainability. The intern provides engineering solutions to agricultural production challenges, recommends innovative technologies, ensures compliance with technical and operational standards and helps deliver agricultural projects on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning and implementation of agricultural engineering projects so they finish on time within approved schedules.
• Develop and recommend practical engineering solutions that improve crop production efficiency, productivity and resource use.
• Assess farm operations and find ways to improve irrigation, mechanisation, equipment use and other processes.
• Research and recommend cost-effective, sustainable agricultural technologies and practices.
• Support the selection, installation, operation and maintenance of agricultural equipment and systems.
• Monitor projects to ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, safety requirements and regulations.
• Carry out site inspections and give technical guidance to farm teams and stakeholders.
• Identify technical problems and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Prepare and submit project, technical and operational reports on time.
• Maintain engineering documentation, project records and equipment maintenance records.
• Work with agronomists, farm managers, technicians and others to improve farm performance.
