Agriculture Marketing Specialist

About the role

The Agriculture Marketing Specialist will support DAI’s five‑year programme aimed at strengthening staple food markets between Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Niger. Based in Accra, the role combines market development, business model innovation and policy advocacy to improve agricultural production and trade across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and promote innovative business models for food production and marketing through a challenge‑fund mechanism.
• Conduct evidence‑based analysis and advocacy to support policy and regulatory reforms that enable efficient regional markets.
• Develop and refine business models for agricultural producers and marketers to enhance profitability and sustainability.
• Coordinate with partners and stakeholders in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Niger, including travel to project sites as required.
• Prepare reports, briefs and presentations for donors, government agencies and private sector partners.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in agriculture, economics, development studies or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in agricultural marketing, trade or policy analysis in West Africa.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with ability to work in multi‑country environments.
