Associate Professor, Computing & Information Systems

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) invites applications for an Associate Professor position within its Faculty of Computing and Information Systems, located in Tesano, Accra. The successful candidate will join one of the departments – Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or General Studies – and will be responsible for teaching, research, supervision and community engagement at a public university.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the chosen department.
• Supervise student projects, theses and dissertations.
• Conduct high‑quality research and publish in recognized journals.
• Participate in community service and outreach activities.
• Contribute to faculty development, curriculum design and academic governance.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.
• Current appointment as Associate Professor at a recognized university, or a Senior Lecturer with at least four years of experience and a minimum of ten publications in recognized journals.
• Three referees with full contact details.
