About the role

Best Western Plus Accra Beach Hotel is looking for a skilled and passionate Breakfast Chef to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate prepares and serves fresh, tasty and well-presented breakfast meals, keeps breakfast service running smoothly and ensures guests enjoy a pleasant dining experience. The role suits someone reliable, organised and committed to high standards of food quality, hygiene and service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of breakfast dishes, including Ghanaian and continental options, for buffet and à la carte service.
• Prepare eggs, hot and cold breakfast items, pastries and other menu offerings as required.
• Ensure all meals are ready on time and meet the hotel's standards for taste, quality and presentation.
• Keep the breakfast buffet well-stocked, clean and attractive throughout service.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures, including proper handling of food allergies and special dietary requests.
• Monitor ingredient usage, maintain appropriate portion sizes and minimise food waste.
• Keep the kitchen, workstations and equipment clean, safe and organised.
• Work closely with the Head Chef and Food and Beverage team to ensure efficient service.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or equipment issues promptly.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a hotel or restaurant.
• Practical experience in breakfast or brunch preparation, including buffet and à la carte service.
• Professional culinary training or a relevant qualification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of food safety, kitchen hygiene and safe food handling.
• Strong cooking skills and attention to detail in food presentation, taste and consistency.
• Good time-management and organisational skills, able to work efficiently during busy breakfast periods.
• Basic knowledge of stock control, portion management and food cost reduction.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, and a positive attitude and reliability.
• Willingness to work early mornings, weekends and public holidays as required.
