Bureau Reporter – Ghana & West Africa

About the role

Bloomberg is seeking an experienced, energetic reporter to cover Ghana and West Africa, with a focus on the Sahel region. You will join a global team, delivering breaking news and in‑depth business analysis for a worldwide audience.

Key responsibilities

• Cover daily breaking news from press briefings, media statements and credible sources.
• Pitch, write and edit stories that explain business and economic developments in Ghana and West Africa.
• Develop and maintain government, political, industry and other sources to produce exclusive stories.
• Take bureau shifts and collaborate with reporters and editors worldwide.
• Utilise new technology and multimedia tools to produce long‑form articles, charts or video packages.

Required profile

• At least five years of journalism experience, preferably in financial and business reporting.
• Fluency in spoken and written English and French.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.
• A desire to produce multi‑media stories.

Required skills

• Ability to write clean, clear and accurate stories on deadline.
• Knowledge of how financial markets, the economy and corporations function.
• Understanding of government policy‑making processes.
