Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead growth initiatives for Abiwegya Farms’ integrated agribusiness operations in Kumasi. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on expanding both local and export markets for crop, livestock, aquaculture and processed products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities across domestic and international channels.
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships and distributor relationships.
• Conduct market research, create business plans and drive commercial initiatives to increase revenue.
• Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and coordinate with operations, finance and production teams.
• Track performance metrics, report on business development outcomes and support community and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven business development and sales experience, including market analysis and relationship management.
• Background in agribusiness or agricultural value chains (crop, livestock, aquaculture, agro‑processing).
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Strategic planning and project management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting and basic business tools such as spreadsheets and CRM systems.
• Knowledge of export markets, supply chain management and regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Commitment to sustainability, community development and ethical business practices.
