Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive growth for Abiwegya Farms’ integrated agribusiness operations in Kumasi and the wider Ashanti Region. Reporting to senior management, the role focuses on identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding both local and export sales of crop, livestock, aquaculture and processed products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate new market opportunities across crop, livestock, aquaculture and agro‑processed lines.
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships and distribution networks.
• Expand local and export sales through targeted business plans and commercial initiatives.
• Conduct market research, prepare proposals and oversee contract negotiations.
• Coordinate with operations, finance and production teams to align business strategy with farm activities.
• Track performance metrics, report on business development outcomes, and adjust tactics as needed.
• Support community and stakeholder engagement initiatives aligned with sustainability goals.

Required profile

• Proven business development and sales experience, including market analysis and relationship management.
• Experience in agribusiness or agricultural value chains (crop, livestock, aquaculture, agro‑processing).
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation abilities.
• Strategic planning and project management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis, reporting and basic business tools.
• Knowledge of export markets, supply‑chain management and relevant regulations is a plus.
• Commitment to sustainability, community development and ethical practices.
