Business Development Manager

About the role

Deswik is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth across Ghana and West Africa. This hunter‑focused role will generate leads, build a robust sales pipeline and convert opportunities into long‑term customer partnerships within the mining technology sector.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and pursue new business leads across Ghana and the broader West African region.
• Build, manage and convert a strong sales pipeline, focusing on revenue generation.
• Increase Deswik’s brand visibility by attending trade shows and leading regional lead‑generation activities.
• Engage prospective customers to understand operational challenges and propose suitable software and consulting solutions.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying renewal, licence usage and upsell opportunities.
• Prepare proposals, support commercial discussions and collaborate with internal teams to close deals.
• Partner with consulting, software and regional sales teams to deliver demos, presentations and training.
• Act as the primary contact for clients across the region, fostering long‑term trust.

Required profile

• At least five years of business development or sales experience in mining software, mining technology or related technical solutions.
• Proven hunting mindset with a track record of generating leads and converting opportunities.
• Strong understanding of mining operations and the value of technology solutions.
• Fluency in English; French is an advantage for regional engagement.
• Self‑driven, proactive and resilient working style, capable of working independently while staying connected to global teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of mining software and technology solutions.
• Experience with proposal development and commercial negotiations.
