Chief Executive Officer

About the role

The client is a well‑established insurance company in Ghana seeking a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation from its head office in Accra. The CEO will be responsible for steering the company’s growth, profitability and compliance across all ten regions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and regularly update business, operational and compliance plans, programmes and guidelines.
• Drive corporate growth, expansion and the delivery of premium insurance and financial products.
• Lead implementation of policies and programmes to achieve performance targets and profitability.
• Monitor internal and external operations to ensure adherence to compliance standards and conduct periodic quality assurance checks.
• Prepare and submit accurate operational, financial, internal‑control and statutory reports to the Board and regulators.
• Represent the company with professional organisations and multi‑stakeholder engagements, maintaining critical relationships.
• Foster a productive, harmonious corporate culture and constructive work attitudes among managers and staff.

Required profile

• Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) or equivalent professional insurance qualification recognised by the National Insurance Commission.
• Advanced degree in an analytical field or an MBA; strong first‑degree from a recognised university.
• Minimum 15 years post‑graduate experience, including at least 5 years in senior management within the insurance sector.
• Proven track record of strategic decision‑making, business acumen and deep technical proficiency in insurance operations.
