Credit Recoveries Manager

About the role

The Credit Recoveries Manager will lead the Credit Recovery Unit at Sekyere Rural Bank, overseeing all activities related to loan recovery and legal proceedings. This senior position reports directly to the Head of Credit and works closely with branch managers and other departments to ensure effective recovery strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Credit Recovery Unit, supervising staff and daily operations.
• Develop a comprehensive recovery plan and strategies for management approval.
• Recommend and develop programmes for recovery staff.
• Liaise with the Credit and Micro‑finance Departments to coordinate recovery efforts.
• Collaborate with branch managers on all recovery issues.
• Maintain records of recoveries, legal documents, and court filings.
• Coordinate with the bank’s lawyer on credit matters and pending court cases.
• Handle credit referencing processes for the bank.
• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and annual recovery reports.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Statistics, Banking & Finance or professional qualification such as ACCA II or ACIB.
• Minimum five years of experience in a financial institution.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Lenders and Borrowers Act and the Credit Reporting Act, 2007 (Act 726).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
