Data Analytics Engineer

About the role

A Data Analytics Engineer in Accra administers, optimizes, secures and analyzes enterprise databases, and builds business intelligence, reporting and data-driven decision-making for customers. The role combines database administration, advanced SQL development, data analytics, BI reporting and data engineering, and ensures the availability, integrity, performance and reliability of data systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, database functions, views, ETL processes, batch scripts and query optimization
• Automate data synchronization, scheduled reporting, data validation, cleansing and reporting pipelines
• Support data warehouse development, data transformation, data marts and aggregation structures
• Analyze operational and transactional data for trends, patterns, KPIs, exceptions and risk indicators
• Build executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, operational reports and drill-down analytics reports with the company's BI tool
• Design star schemas, dimensional models, data marts and reporting structures
• Implement data validation rules, duplicate detection, consistency checks and cleansing processes
• Maintain data standards, naming conventions, metadata and data structure documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics and Data Science or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in database administration, SQL development or data analytics
• Professional certification in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Power BI or Data Analytics is an added advantage
• Strong SQL scripting and database administration skills, analytical and business-oriented, able to turn data into actionable insights
• Experience with BI and analytics tools; ability to explain technical information to non-technical users

• Salary of GHS 4,000 - GHS 5,000
