IT Manager

About the role

DHL Global Forwarding, the Group's air, ocean and road freight specialist, is hiring an IT Manager in Accra, Ghana. The role implements IT plans and processes to deliver systems and application development, hardware acquisition and integration in line with business strategy, Group guidelines and policies. It is an individual contributor who may manage two or fewer employees.

Key responsibilities

• Implement IT plans and processes, conduct business requirement reviews and write logical statements of requirements
• Analyse and document business processes and metrics, and identify improvements to streamline and automate processes
• Document how applications and systems support business processes and develop selection criteria and program specifications
• Guide others in preparing functional designs and evaluate risks and benefits of alternative designs
• Assess cost-benefit and ROI of proposed solutions and the impact of system changes on users and stakeholders
• Develop and coordinate software testing and debugging plans, create test plans and scripts and run tests with testing tools
• Contribute to functional design plans and scan the market, industry and vendors to follow technology trends
• Facilitate communication between business and IT and resolve day-to-day issues to improve efficiency
• Support and coach less experienced team members, and build trustful relationships with managers and stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• More than 6 years of experience
• Ability to convince subject matter experts to adopt new concepts and to influence communication between business and IT
• Willingness to cooperate with third parties such as external service providers
