Driver for International Organization for Migration

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a reliable Driver to support its field operations in Ghana. Working under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Field Coordinator, the Driver will ensure safe and efficient transport of staff, equipment, and documents across project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Drive assigned IOM vehicle(s) to official destinations, selecting the safest and most direct routes.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (tires, brakes, oil, fan belt) and arrange minor repairs.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure regular service intervals.
• Keep accurate logs of mileage, fuel consumption and prepare monthly usage reports.
• Transport officials to/from airports and assist with immigration and customs formalities.
• Collect and deliver mail, documents, and parcels to the country office, post office, government agencies, UN partners and project sites.
• Support office staff with basic clerical tasks such as answering calls and photocopying when needed.

Required profile

• Ability to operate IOM vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Attention to detail for vehicle maintenance and record‑keeping.
• High level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Awareness of security considerations while traveling.
