Electrical Supervisor – Underground

About the role

The Electrical Supervisor – Underground will lead the monitoring, refurbishment and maintenance of electrical equipment within the underground infrastructure of the Obuasi Gold Mine. The role ensures plant availability, safety and cost‑effectiveness while supporting the transition to a fully mechanised operation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control output of underground electrical refurbishment projects.
• Conduct periodic audits of secondary fans, cabling and other underground electrical assets.
• Execute routine condition‑monitoring checks, including visual, vibration, infrared, ultrasonic, motor current and flux data collection.
• Analyse and trend predictive‑maintenance data to assess plant condition and generate work requests in SAP.
• Participate in maintenance review programmes and root‑cause failure analysis for electrical equipment.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives and coordinate contractor activities.

Required profile

• Experienced in underground electrical maintenance and refurbishment.
• Self‑motivated with a strong focus on safety, quality and environmental compliance.
• Ability to gather and organise data for reporting and condition‑monitoring planning.
